About Joey

I'm Joey, the coach behind The Lantern Path.

For most of my life, I've been the person people talk to. I've spent years walking alongside people through some really hard seasons—listening, mentoring, asking questions, helping people sort through the noise, and sometimes simply sitting with them while they figured out what came next.

Over time, I realized something: I don't want to tell people what to do. I want to help them hear themselves.

That's really where The Lantern Path came from.

I work primarily with women, and relationships are a big part of what I do—the relationship with your partner, your family, your friends, and maybe most importantly, the relationship you have with yourself. So many of us get really good at taking care of everybody else, keeping the peace, doing what we're "supposed" to do, and trying to get it right. Somewhere along the way, we can lose track of what we actually think, feel, need, or want.

I'm not here to rescue you, fix you, or hand you a list of things you need to do.

I hold the lantern. You find your own way.

That means I'll be curious with you. I'll listen. I'll ask questions. I'll probably ask some questions that make you stop and think. And sometimes I'll lovingly challenge you when I hear something that doesn't quite line up with what you say you want.

I bring professional coaching training along with years of real-world experience supporting, mentoring, advocating for, and walking beside people through complicated situations. I also bring a lot of my own lived experience with growth, relationships, boundaries, and learning to trust myself.

And I believe strongly in good boundaries around this work. Coaching isn't counseling or therapy, and I won't pretend that it is. If what you're going through needs a different kind of support, I'll tell you that.

But if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, at a crossroads, struggling in a relationship, or realizing you've spent so much time listening to everyone else that you can barely hear yourself anymore...

Come sit with me for a while. We'll slow it down and see what your next step might be.

You don't have to see the whole path.

Sometimes you just need enough light for the next step. 🏮

SESSIONS

What We Might Work On

Our sessions are 50 minutes, conducted virtually through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. This is a one-on-one conversation centered entirely on you and whatever feels most important right now. There is no need to have it all figured out before we begin—we will slow it down, talk it through, and see what becomes clearer together.

What We Might Work On
What Coaching Isn't

  • Relationships — with your partner, family, friends, or yourself. Figuring out what’s yours, what isn’t, and what you actually want.

  • Boundaries and people-pleasing — learning to care about people without losing yourself in the process.

  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed — when there are so many thoughts, feelings, or choices that you can’t tell what the next step is.

  • Life changes and crossroads — when something is shifting and you’re trying to figure out where you go from here.

  • Trusting yourself — quieting some of the outside noise and getting clearer about your own needs, wants, and decisions.

  • That feeling that something needs to change — even when you can’t quite put your finger on what it is yet.

You don't have to come to coaching knowing exactly what you want to work on. Sometimes figuring that out is where we start.

What Coaching Isn't

  • It isn't me telling you what to do. I may challenge you, ask hard questions, or help you look at something differently—but your life and your choices belong to you.

  • It isn't fixing you. I don't believe you're broken or that you need to become some better version of yourself before you can move forward.

  • It isn't about getting everything right. You can show up confused, frustrated, unsure, or with absolutely no idea where to start.

  • It isn't therapy. Coaching doesn't diagnose or treat mental health conditions or replace counseling or other mental health care.

  • It isn't a quick-fix formula. We're not following somebody else's five-step plan for how your life is supposed to look.

Coaching is a place to slow down, get curious about what's really going on, and find enough light to see your next step. 🏮
